Henry Chen, M.S. is an integral member of the Westlake IVF laboratory team as a Senior Embryologist at Austin Fertility & Reproductive Medicine/Westlake IVF. He has been a part of the team since January 2017. Henry earned his BSc degree from the Animal Science Department at the National Chung-Hsing University (Taiwan) in 1990. He then received his MSc degree in Biomedicine with an focus in Animal Physiology from Colorado State University in 1996. He then pursued research in reproductive medicine and animal science. In 2006, he made the transition to clinical reproductive medical laboratories. Henry is proficient in all aspects of Assisted Reproductive Technologies (ART) including blastomere and trophectoderm biopsy for Preimplantation Genetic Diagnosis and Preimplantation Genetic Screening (PGD/PGS). His research interests include: cell culture (somatic and embryonic stem cell), nuclear transfer, in vitro maturation, and development of ICSI for a variety of animal species
