Stephanie Monroe, B.S. is a laboratory Andrologist at Austin Fertility & Reproductive Medicine/Westlake IVF since June 2021. Stephanie earned her B.S. in Microbiology from Texas State University in San Marcos, TX in 2020. Stephanie spent 1.5 years doing undergraduate research on PCR techniques and bacteria/fungal interactions. While obtaining her degree, Stephanie taught microbiology labs which emphasized laboratory techniques and microscopy. Her first year post-graduation, Stephanie performed PCR-based testing for COVID-19 and FACTOR2/5 and MTHFR mutations, as well as LC-MS for anti-seizure and anti-psychotic medications. Stephanie felt the call to fertility and is excited to be a part of the Austin Fertility team. Her main areas of work include sperm preparation for Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) and Intrauterine Insemination (IUI), semen analysis, and testing for DNA Fragmentation of sperm (DFI). Her research topics include:
